AND THE WINNER IS

OMG!!! Its Oscar week and we can hardly handle all Leo (Dicaprio of course) stories covering news feeds. While prepping our picks for this Sundays ballot, we have also been scoping the web for the very best Ocsar party ideas. There are a lot. To make your life easier, here are five essentials we think every oscar party must have.  Lets be real, this is the Oscars not your wedding. An element of fancy + tons of fun +  a flow of champagne will definitely win you the vote for BEST HOST EVER!

POPCORN: A delicious snack with endless options to make your own. We love this popcorn bar because of the candy, but we have also seen them with different salts, oils and butter flavoring. Check here and here.

FANCY BAR: Maybe you already have a loaded bar cart, so add some gold garland and half a dozen bottles of champagne and you are good. If not, throw one together. Add pretty glasses, gold rimmed things, flowers, maybe a sparkly table runner, an ice bucket and some booze.  This one is from 100layercake,  and this one a bit more simple.

WINNING DECOR: This is a DIY gold painted ken doll made into an Oscar. Winning.
Here are some other nominated ideas: Gold back drop, a themed worthy banner, balloons and maybe just a touch of sparkle.

A CHANCE TO VOTE: Weather for a prize or just pride, you must offer each guest an Oscar ballot of their own.  Not only does it keep some of the less exciting categories watchable, but also you can see which one of your friends actually does have good taste in film. Kidding.

THEATRE LIKE DESSERT:  Candy kabobs are cool. Maybe not as fancy as cake bites or carmel apple cupcakes, but we would actually sneak these into a theatre. Something about the combo of candy and movies. They just get each other...in a sweet and exciting way.

BONUS: A small dress code to spruce things up. We recommend girls come with updos and boys with bow ties. The rest of the outfit is Sunday as usual. Always fun to see a girl with an french twist and jeans and tee right? Or a boy in a flannel and bow tie.  See ya on instagram
