Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies EVER! Beyond watching it a hundred times, I have also just watched the end sequence starting with the famous "Nobody puts baby in the corner" line that ends with the amazing lift, about a million times. Because the movie takes course over the summer and ends on Labor Day weekend its the perfect movie to theme this weekend's backyard bash! Showing the movie is a must, but also adding vintage games such as dominoes and bingo in the mix while snacking on old fashion pink popcorn and s'more ice cream sandwiches, will really have guests feeling that Catskills vibe. Throw on the movie's soundtrack mixed up with other 1960's tunes and add in a Tom Collins or two and you are all sure to be dirty dancing in no time. Baby's outfits were always on point and now is your chance to dress like her! Keds, high waisted shorts, crop tops, and ballerina dresses. And if the guys could just dress like Johnny all of our dream may just come true. <3
Dirty Dancing Theme Checklist
1. Vintage games - Bingo, Dominions, a deck of card, twister, etc.
2. Cute Snacks- Old fashion Pink Popcorn, S'more ice cream sandwiches, a candy bar.
3. Decorations- Movie quote banners.
4. Music-The movie's soundtrack and other music from the 1960's to set the mood.
5. Drinks- Refreshing cocktails like this boozy watermelon lemonade and the classic Tom Collins .
6. Screening the movie- prefect to project onto a wall in the backyards with plenty of blankets out.
