Today is the first day of Spring or Vernal Equinox, which ever you prefer to celebrate. We saw this awesome DIY floral heart on 100 layer cake and had to make it into our own. What better way then a big floral happy face to welcome the longer days, warmer temps and our sundresses and sandals back in rotation.
Happy Spring!
What you need:
- Strong foam. At least an inch thick. Available at most craft stores.
- Faux flowers.
-Serrated knife. We used one from the kitchen, which worked but not the best. A dry wall knife recommended if you have it.
- A cut out or stencil of your shape. We used a frying pan for the perfect circle.
- Scissors
- Sharpie
- Wire or ribbon
- White glue
Start by tracing your shape on to your foam. We had to do 2 halves because ours did not fully fit. |
Once traced, cut foam with knife. |
If you have 2 parts connect with wire or white glue. |
Cut flowers to have about 1" of stem. Start putting flowers into foam. We started with the eye placement and worked around those. |
Once finished, attach wire or ribbon to hang. Happy Happy! |
