J'ADORE LES COOKIES

France may not win the World Cup, but Monday will still be a national holiday for the country of Vin, du fromage et de l'amour. Bastille Day or National French Day honors the beginning of the French revolution and a perfect reason to get all francais. We took the country's famous small cake /cookie and made them into french flags! Kinda of. They are red velvet with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles, perfect to celebrate our favorite French holiday.  Add some champagne, brie, a baguette and  some Francoise Hardy and you'll have yourself a partie!

SEA SALT + COCONUT+ CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!!!! What a fine Thursday to bake up a batch of your favorite version of the cookie pretty much everyone loves.  I promise your coworkers will be stoked when you get involved with this national holiday and bring them the overages. I have a theory that most mixtures of flour, sugar, eggs, baking power, baking soda and vanilla extract will turn out yummy, but to be safe there are tons of easy recipes online available for the "perfect chocolate chip cookie".  Since its been 100 degrees this week in Los Angeles, our daydreams have been filled with splashing around at the beach. To be able to make those dreams a bit more of a reality I had added a little sea salt and coconut to these guys. A little sea salt and a little coconut never hurt nobody.....or cookie.

*bonus: used coconut oil instead of butter, so they are ALMOST healthy!
